Boney Kapoor lands in trouble as Election Commission of India (ECI) officials have seized 66 kilos of silverware from a car belonging to him!
Legal troubles seem to be mounting for Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor as Election Commission of India (ECI) officials have seized 66 kilos of silverware from a car belonging to him. As per the latest reports, silver items such as bowls, spoons, water mugs, and plates worth Rs39 lakh were confiscated in the outskirts of Karnataka's Davangere. The car was reportedly stopped on the Pune-Bengaluru national highway by the officials on poll duty. The driver Hari Singh along with one person Sultan Khan was detained as they didn't have the proper documents required by ECI.
A case has been registered against Hari Singh at Davangere rural police station. the ECI officials revealed that the silver items were found in five boxes and the car belongs to the property of a company called Bayview Projects Pvt Ltd, which is founded by Boney Kapoor. Hari reportedly has admitted that the silver goods belonged to the Kapoor family. Further investigation is underway. Boney Kapoor is yet to release a statement on the same.
This seizure comes a day after the election department seized 8.6 kilos of gold worth a whopping Rs 1.47 crore and cash of Rs 3.37 crore in Bengaluru. The total seizures stand at Rs 70 crore in poll-bound Karnataka.
Meanwhile, Boney Kapoor recently made headlines after his picture with supermodel Gigi Hadid from the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre event surfaced online. The photo raised eyebrows on social media as it showed Boney holding Gigi by the waist while posing.
